The Afiya Center seeks to edify Black womxn by partnering directly with them in the work we do on behalf of our specific issues. We are working to dismantle the criminalization of Black womxn’s bodies on every level by providing Black womxn the space to be their brilliant, audacious selves.
We prioritize hiring applicants from the pool of people we seek to serve. This includes, but is not limited to, Black womxn, people who have had abortions, low-income people, formerly incarcerated people, queer folk, trans folk, mothers, and femme head of households. We value the lived experience and the leadership of Black womxn and are committed to investing in the development of the people we hire for mutual success in our movement and advocacy work. We’re looking for both established and up and coming leaders to help us in the fight to end reproductive oppression for Black womxn and girls.
